Website redesign: your questions answered
Will a redesign hurt my Google rankings?
Not if it’s done properly. We keep the pages that rank, carry over titles and content, and redirect every old URL to its new home. Done well, a faster and clearer site usually ranks better.
Can you keep my existing content?
Yes. We move over the pages, posts and images you want to keep and tidy them up as we go. We’ll also suggest which pages to merge, rewrite or retire.
How long does a website redesign take?
Smaller sites can be done in a couple of weeks. Larger sites with lots of content or integrations take longer, and we agree the timeline with you before we start.
Should I redesign or start again?
If your platform is sound, a redesign is quicker and cheaper. If it’s slow, insecure or hard to edit, rebuilding on Foundation CMS or a fresh WordPress install is usually the better long-term call. We’ll be straight with you about which.
